Mechanical Engineering Excellence at GNIEM

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering & Management is one of the top mechanical institutes that provide students with a very sound mechanical engineering education. The course is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). It enhances the understanding and application of mechanical engineering principles for the techno-production of the country, which improves the quality of life of our citizens through teaching, research, and different programs. Our mission is to offer an environment where students have a large number of avenues to excel, improve their technical exposure, develop their personality, and then get placed in PSUs, MNCs, and reputed companies with a good future. Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering & Management provides an excellent teaching and learning environment and provides a platform to inspire high motivation, moral values, and leadership in its students.

The mechanical department at Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering & Management offers an eight-semester Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) course with an intake of 120 students. The main aim of this department is to produce expert professionals in Mechanical Engineering to compete globally with the emerging areas of research. It covers various subjects like Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Material Science, Structural Analysis, and Electricity. Mechanical Engineers use tools like computer-aided design and different product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants.

This department consists of high-quality laboratories in areas of Bulk Solids and Computer-Aided Design, Heat & Mass Transfer, Manufacturing, Automation/Robotics, and I.C. Engine, etc.

The duties of a Mechanical Engineer are to analyze different problems and find how mechanical and thermal devices solve the problem. Mechanical Engineers design different products, select materials for the design, create prototypes, and find tools for production. Mechanical designers also help to design power-producing machines such as electric generators, steam engines, and gas turbines as well as power-using machines, such as air-conditioning systems and refrigerators.
